First time driving a friggin car.

First time driving a manual transmission.

First time driving in Pakistan

First Time driving right hand drive.

First time driving a Honda city.

First time stalling.

Second time stalling.

Third time stalling

4th time stalling

A hell of a lot more stalling

But eventually got the hang of it.

Today was a good day.

I had a friend teach me to drive stick on his Mazda; he said he was surprised that I didn’t have much problem getting off the line since that’s when most people stall. My problem was learning to brake with two feet pressed in and putting it in neutral while braking.

This was only in a parking lot so I never got past 3rd gear and rarely out of second, but I can see why people enjoy it. I’m just not ready to do it in traffic, yet.

It’s funny you mention that. My friend taught me in his WRX and my problem was smoothly getting the car off the line. I would end up making the car rock back and forth for a little bit.

It’s also strange how after second gear it just goes into gear. Not much fuss once you get out of second. Just clutch in, change to third and let the clutch out. Not as much throttle control as first and second.
